DNA stranding data is obtained exclusively with the authorization of the relevant authorities (BPSPL/BKSDA) and funded by Yayasan Westerlaken Alliance Indonesia. A portion of the data is made available online at no cost, and we generally support non-commercial use of the data, subject to obtaining our written consent. This database also includes instances of live stranded marine mammals that were successfully rescued (returned to the sea water). For live marine mammals, of course, we do not take DNA samples.

 

  While you may utilize the data for internal meetings or coordination purposes, it is mandatory to acknowledge "Yayasan Westerlaken Alliance Indonesia" as the source. Additionally, we are pleased to present a map illustrating the geographic distribution of stranded whales documented by Yayasan Westerlaken Alliance Indonesia.
