Tuesday 21/06/2022, Yayasan Bali Bersih/ Westerlaken Foundation held a socialization on the plan to build a marine mammal and turtle rehabilitation center in Serangan. The meeting was held at the Serangan Village Office and was attended by several interested community leaders. Representatives from the Bali Province Marine and Fisheries Service (DKP) and the Denpasar Coastal and Marine Resources Management Center (BPSPL) were also present at this meeting. This program is a joint proposal from the Yayasan Bali Bersih/ Westerlaken Foundation and the Jakarta Animal Aid Network (JAAN). From the use of marine space, it is proposed to build a floating sea pen as a place of rehabilitation, in which the function of this sea pen will later be used for the common good, both from the government and NGOs observing marine mammals and turtles in Bali.
